First post don't beat me up to bad. I've never been to a rallycross and don't know much about it. I'll do some more searching on the net for the technical stuff. I did a couple autocross events in a Mustang SVO I used to own but it was a car club and for fun with no classes or rules. Autocross was a little bit fun but kind of slow for my taste. I'm hoping sliding in the dirt and shooting rooster tails will be a little more fun.
I'm on a very limited budget so I would probably only be able to do a couple events if I decide to do it. I've got a line on a possible candidate. My brother offered to give me his 90 Mustang LX 5.0 hatchback that is in rough shape. 200k miles and he lives a 1/4 mile from the ocean so it has quite a bit of rust but nothing structural. Now for the questions.
1. Is a Mustang a good choice for a rallycross vehicle especially since it's "free"?
2. Besides your typical consumables what's all involved in getting a vehicle in a stock class prepared for rallycross?
If there is a good link to site I would appreciate it.
Thanks
Rick
