I was concerned about the broomstick test with a Tracks Unlimited event at Barber a couple months ago. TU and Barber did not require a roll bar on an S2000 for novices and maybe intermediate levels too.
Here's a statement from Honda on the S:
"Even though open-topped cars are exempted, the S2000 meets the federal standard for occupant protection in a rollover accident. The driver's and passenger's roll bars are made of 1.5-inch diameter high-strength steel pipe with a .080-inch wall thickness, and tie directly into the frame. Additional protection is provided by reinforced door pillars, windshield posts and the windshield frame."

The S was built to the same standard as a HT vehicle. If this documentation is enough I'll be there is there is room available. If not, thank you for the consideration.
I know we've let Z4s run before with similar factory bars. The fact that the manufacturer is willing to state they are for protection and not for styling satisfies me. Go ahead and send me an entry form if you'd like to participate.

NOVICE GROUP IS FULL. If you are interested you can send me your information and you can be added to a wait list in case someone drops out.
There are still a couple spots available in the Intermediate and Advanced groups. These spots will fill up so contact me quickly if you don't want to be left out.
Happy Thanksgiving!

PDX group?
Casey, which group do you have me in? Novice or Intermediate? What are the guidelines on which group to run in?
If you have me under Novice, maybe you could move me up into Intermediate since I've already had one PDX at that track and also have done 3-day Skip Barber racing school? That could free up another Novice slot?Tony Ewing
