  • Workers Needed: Talladega TrackTrial event

    TENNESSEE VALLEY/ALABAMA REGIONS
    SEDIV TIME TRIALS
CHAMPIONSHIP EVENT, TT School & PDX
    April 9-10, 2016

    TALLADEGA GRAN PRIX RACEWAY

This event is only a few short weeks away and we have need for Flagging and Communications personnel! No experience required but it helps to have done it before.

You'll have the opportunity to enjoy the races up close and personal while working at a corner station trackside. There are 5 stations that need to be covered for both Saturday and Sunday. If you can help please register at Motorsportsreg.com

We'll need help in Timing and Scoring, Flagging and Communications, Registration as well as Pit and Grid. This is a good opportunity to gain experience for a SCCA Specialty license, an opportunity to work an event which can get you a discount on your membership, and a chance to make many of your racing friends happy.

We like to take care of our workers so we will be providing some lovely perks for volunteering.
(Probably Food, cash and a little track time. If I'm wrong the Time Trail chair can correct me.)

Do you want to get out and enjoy the nice weather in April and provide a vital service for the club and your fellow drivers? Sign up today! We need you! As usual, thank you for your support.

Without you there are no events.

This is always a fun event, and the training and experience you get at TGPR is helpful when you come out to help at our Club Race later in the year.

Also, if you volunteer to help for enough days of Club Racing (including TT events,) you can receive a discount on your membership dues.

Be careful, though. This sort of activity can be addictive.

Is a weekend membership acceptable for someone to volunteer? Morgen would like to try this out with me, but is not currently an SCCA member.

I believe so. Seems like the first SCCA event I flagged was prior to becoming a member & I had to complete a weekend membership form. That's been a few years though.

                Yes. A weekend membership works.

We always have some workers that aren't members. The more the merrier!

We are going to need some volunteers to make this event happen. It's an easy way to help the club and enjoy a couple of days in the Alabama Spring time. We have approximately 5 corner stations to covered as well as a few other non flagging positions to be filled. If you only want to work one day and enter the Performance Driving Experience on the other, we can work with you on that. Come out and enjoy another aspect of the club. Sign up!

As of right now we only have 12 workers signed up. Only 2 of those are signed up to wave flags and use a radio. We typically need at least 8. C generally covers 1 by himself, 2 each @ stations 2,4,6 and 1 at station 7/gate.

Free food. Cash money. Free 30 minute track session(most likely).

Hallie helped in timing and scoring last time so that's what I signed her up for. She said she doesn't care what she works though. You can put her where ever is necessary.

Hallie was our runner in the fall. She brought each session's results from the tower to the bulletin board on the club house.

She'll be working timing and scoring at Road Atlanta tomorrow so she may or may not have acquired a new skill-set this weekend.
