  • Road Atlanta Majors/PDX March 18-20, 2016

Volunteers are needed in all Club Racing Specialties for this year's Majors Race and PDX at Road Atlanta, March 18-20, 2016. This weekend should see a very strong collection of National-level cars and drivers for your viewing pleasure. As an incentive, qualified volunteers can get a couple PDX sessions on track that Sunday for only $50.

I'd personally like one or two more companions willing to help with Sound Control, a relatively laid-back, mostly administrative job stationed along the back straight. Fresh air, race cars at speed, and a chance to learn that speed is not necessarily related to sound levels.

If you can help in any Specialty on any day, or all three, please preregister here - https://www.motorsportreg.com/events...4#.Vrszg5MrLaQ

This is the same weekend as Dixie for us. Not trying to "torpedo". Just reminding you if there happens to be a low number of parking lot racers signed up to work this one.

Not every person reading this thread is a Soloist participating in National-level competition, although I applaud all of you who do.

This would be a good opportunity for our aspiring tech inspectors.

I referenced "us" as parking lot racers

I just know the typical work force is autocrossers. Date just caught my eye. Thought I may give you/yens a heads up that the usual crew may be low and why. Back to my parking lot section :/

I think my point was that the more-dedicated Solo drivers who will enjoy the Dixie Tour are a minority of all Solo drivers. That leaves the majority of the Region's membership available to learn about/enjoy some of the highest level Club Racing in the Southeast.

The number of serious autocrossers volunteering at Club Races is actually much lower than one might expect. This is evidenced by the fact that the Atlanta Region Solo program occasionally counter-programs big events on the same weekends as Club Races, with little effect on the volunteer turnout.

I'd guess that most Club Racing workers are/were occasional Solo participants, but would rather be involved with on-track events.

I'd love to come along and learn the sound equipment and get a chance to familiarize myself with the track if they will approve my car for PDX. I'll go ahead and sign up as a volunteer and check with the Sharon Rollow about my car before I fully commit to this.

Thanks. If you can make it, I'll enjoy the days even more.
