A old familiar and well known corner worker is no longer with us .Copied is the email I recieved.I flagged with the guy on a couple of occasions .Funny character for sure .

It is with a heavy heart that I send this news. We were notified this morning that Art Corbitt passed away yesterday. If you have worked, raced, or been to Roebling in the past...ever...you have been helped and watched over by Art. Art, and his wife, Judy, have been our "track parents" for 10 years. He will be sorely missed.

Andrew is gathering the funeral arrangement information, and I will pass it along when I receive it. The Corbitt's mailing address is:

    P.O. Box 246
    Rincon, GA 31326

    Sincerely,

I remember working with Art one time at station 6, his usual haunt. He did a lot of events there, alone, since non-SCCA folks mainly want observers, not responders. When there was a black flag call, he'd put down his cigarette, fix up the number board, flip it over the rail of the station, and put a big chunk of concrete block on it to hold it in place. Then, he'd get the black flag ready and show it to the perpetrator. All of this while keeping track of down-track traffic in case a yellow was needed.

He will be missed. At least he won't need his oxygen bottle any more.
