2010 Atlanta F&C School, and More

OK, I've had enough winter now...let's warm up and get back to the track to see our corner marshal family and hear and smell race cars again. We have a lot smaller line up of events next year. We start with an F&C Training on February 13th at Road Atlanta. There will be more coming on this in the next couple of days as I firm up the different parts of the course that I hope to include. At the very least it will include all aspects of Flagging and Communications. I am still working with Road Atlanta on EMS and Fire Extinguisher training. But as I said more to come, and soon.

The events for the 2010 are:

March 20 & 21st - National, double ProIT, PDX - Much the same format as prior National weekends except that as of right now the ProIT will be 45 min. timed event instead of 20 laps.

April 10 & 11th - The 25th aniversary of the Spec Racer Fords event. This will include Spec Racer Ford; Pro Formula Enterprise; Pro Spec Racer Ford and all other Enterprise chassis cars. More information at www.srf25.com. Send

May 22 & 24th - National, Time Trials, ProIT and PDX. Time Trials for the first time at Road Atlanta will include three groups one open wheel and two closed. Should be a lot of new and old cars we haven't seen before or at least not lately and fun to watch.

July 17 & 18th - Double SARRC, ProIT and PDX

Sept. 3, 4 & 5 - Labor Day weekend at Barber MS. Friday, Saturday and Sunday, you still have the holiday to be home with family.

Sept. 28 thru Oct. 2 - Petit Le Mans. Tuesday through Saturday

Nov. 5, 6 & 7 - ARRC, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

After being dormant for a number of years the Atlanta Region Flagging and Communications training program is starting up again. It won't be like the us old timers remember at the Georgia Fireman's' academy in Forsyth but I will try to give you some good information to help everyone come away with something they can use at the track in the future to make you, your co-workers and drivers safer.

As the things come together I will be sending out some additional information.

Place - Road Atlanta...don't know yet if at Media Center or Training Room.
Time - Feb.13th 8:30 - 5:00 (Lunch on your own)

We will also spend time reviewing scenarios of incidents and allow time for questions and answers.

Unfortunately there will be activity at the track that day so we will not be able to have the Road Atlanta EMS crew work with us on fire suppression. We will try to reschedule this for a future time.
