    Miata guys (or anybody else),

what is your view on the 949racing 6ul wheels? Any experiences?

I am looking for a 15x8 for my eTHIRTY.

    Thanks,

    john

I had a set and loved them but sold them to buy 15x7 race wheels for the ITA car. They are beautiful, light and strong. The new semi forged wheel Emilio is coming out with should be incredible. Don't be in hurry for them. Shipping takes some time. He has a 15x7 25mm offset for the e30/ITA Miatas right now but I'm not sure you can get 15x8's without using wheels spacers.

Your not going to run the red pinstriped ones. Bummer!

I'll still run the red pinstriped SSK's at autocross, no worries!!!! Just looking for a set of 15x8 to run 225 Rcomps for TT. That is where the eTHIRTY is headed!!!

Your right John, 15x8 will take a spacer. I'm currently running a 6.35mm (1/4") spacer for the SSK as they are 38mm offset. If I run a 15x8 with the stock offset, I think they have a 25mm 15x8, then the spacer I'm running should be sufficient. I may have to go up to an 8mm or 10mm spacer depending on the tire I run (looks like the Hoosier and Kumho have different tread width specifications for 225). Either way a 15x8 will definitely require some fender rolling!!

the rota rb also comes in 15x8 for the miata. i happened to like the styling (sort of like a panasport) of the rb better. they are about the same price. has any one weighed these wheels? which is heavier?

I would bet the RB is much heavier, the 13x8 is ~15 pounds. I have a set of the 15" here and one weighs ~35 pounds with a Ventus RSS 205/50s on it. You might back in to the wheel weight if you can find the eight of the tire.

My 15x8 949's were right at 13lbs (12.8), but the way they are designed is most of the wheel mass is in the center around the hub. I love the look of the RB's but they are heavy and a stock Miata doesn't like heavy wheels.

Isn't that the best place to have the weight? I can't read your inflection ...
