I just got home after an ambulance ride to the emergency room because I wasn't using safe methods to change tires.
"I'm not getting under the car, so I don't need jack stands." is a lie.
I slipped the Miata off the jack when I pulled off the left front, and managed to trap my hand between the tire and the fender. Luckily, I had the phone with me, and was able to call for help.
Don't be complacent. Even a little girly car hurts a lot when it's parked on your hand.
Nothing broken besides my ego and a bit of skin. I think the glove on that hand saved me a lot of grief.
