does any have or know where i can get access to a lathe? it doesnt need to be a big professional machine. i need to trim from 46mm to 45mm radius x 10mm long.

on a related note, does anyone know where i could get a machine shop to reproduce a plastic/delrin piece in either delrin or aluminum? it has 2 gears on it, could they do a much finer pitch? any guesses as to pricing? $10's of dollars? $100's of dollars?

Bill? I'm guessing Bill but you don't have your real name on your post so I really have no idea. I can probaly help you out with the lathe, what is the piece you need worked on and what is made of?

      yep, i'm bill.

look @ the 6th pic down.

the white piece that the bearing goes around. it seems to be some sort of hard plastic such as delrin or something similar. i dont have the bearing yet, im trying to find out the feasibility & cost of doing this right now. i have found a place to order the bearing for $15, so if shaving the thing down doesnt cost to much i will probably get it done.

I"ll try and get Wizzer to do it for you, won't cost anything. Maybe put Bill in your sig?

i was doing a few other things to it as well & had to make an extra trip to lowes. but, its all together & running PERFECTLY now. because of the way it goes together i needed it a little looser fitting (it still has to be pried off) so i had to sand it a little. other than that it went together great. i had to pay VERY close attention to the torque on all the bolt for the assembly because the wider bearing spaces everything differently. with everything put together properly it feels MUCH smoother & firmer than it did new. it is far better than my pc wheel now. its still not on par w/ sean's setup, but it's pretty darn good for $115 total investement!

again thank you & thank your dad for me.
