Forum will no longer be utilized!

After facing many challenges with utilization of this forum for many years, the board voted on the evening of 1/12/2026 to stop use of the forum in favor of the modern, more effective means.

Most of our general club organization will now be coordinated via Discord and results from our events along with schedules and announcements will be hosted on our main alscca.net webpage.

What does this mean for the old forum? Well, in short we are going to stop using it. This has been reviewed several times in the past few years, and there has been a desire for some of more tenured members of the club to have the historic content preserved. In an effort to preserve this content, it was discovered that we could not simply export the content to be placed in a modern website. This forum will now become an archive only forum and will not be monitored. If you wish to preserve any of the content, this is your time to search the pages to find it. There is no promise that this content will remain available forever with the fragile nature of this forum.

    Help with NB Miata

    Can anyone tell me what these three connectors are? Specifically the one on the far right in the pic.
    For orientation, this is the front of the motor just left of the thermostat housing.

    What the heck... The picture got turned 90deg counter-clockwise when it was uploaded, so I'm most interested in the connector on top and the one directly under it.

    I have a feeling the one on top is an oil pressure switch and the one under it feeds the injector harness but I could be wrong.

            It looks like my connector in question is for the knock sensor. It also appears all of the damage is on the sensor side and not the harness side. Lucky me! It does appear that the intake has to come off to replace the knock sensor.

            I haven't figured out the middle connector yet, but the damage there is minimal and I think I can repair it all without replacing the harness.

              I just put a turbo on my car last month and had to tap the oil pressure pickup which is right below the knock sensor. The knock sensor can probably be accessed by removing the wheel from under the car without the tray. Don't be surprised to see some oil like substance leaking from it. It does not harm the functionality of the sensor according to Tom at Partsgroup.

                Got it running. Thanks for the help.

                BTW, the knock sensor had nothing to do with the car not running. It was just a separate problem I came across while troubleshooting.

                Now, on to building a race car!
