Wht does everyone recommend for properly sealing AN/NPT fittings in the fuel and oil system? The VW guys say to use the paste style pipe sealer for oil, but I have no idea for fuel. Any thoughts?

What chuck said.
If you feel unsure, a little plumbers dope or dope tape on the threads should be fine, but if all the lines were put together correctly, and everything was tightened to spec, the ball/socket of the fittings should naturally compress and seal itself.
If you're freaked out about it, a little thread sealer shouldn't hurt.M. Cholewa

I used Jegs Thread Sealant and it worked great!!!
I would also recommend picking up a set of these if you don't already have them. They make life soooo much easier when trying to put all the hoses and fittings together.Mark K

This right here!!! AN fittings Don't need anything on the threads. They aren't designed for that. Anything you put on the threads can get into the pipe and muck things up.Originally posted by Chuck Baader View PostAN fittings done properly need NOTHING!!! CB
Pipe threads are a different matter. A smear of thread sealant seals everything up nice.John W8

Yes, what Mark said. Jeg's thread sealant is very cool and works like a charm.
However, as Chuck said, if you have good quality AN fittings, and they are put together right, they should seal properly at the 37degree fitting and not leak. You shouldn't need any type of sealant on the threads.John Kilgore...if winning was easy, losers would do it.

Alrighty, thanks! I've got several NPT threads I'm adapting to, so I will seal those. I've been using the pasty plumbers sealant.Matt W.
