I think your standard oil change places like Xpress and whatnot do that sort of stuff. I swear I thought at one point O'Reilly did it, but I can't remember for sure.

We even have people in Trussville that know what they are doing. Have you asked Steve? Chuck

What does it usually cost? The "wisdom" on the internetz is that it is almost the same cost to just get new rotors, for miatas at least.

It's for my Dad's Rainier. The rotors are $75 each and made of pure Chinesium or Brazilium
so a resurface of good old american iron will do just fine. The fine folks at AutoWiz are handling the job as we speak.

I've been a bit leery about getting this sort of thing done due to several bad experiences with people/businesses who had no clue how to properly resurface a rotor or setup the machine only to have it cut below minimum and ruining the rotor.

We've become a throw away society and the skilled craftsmen who did this kinda stuff for a living are getting harder to find.

            Thanks for the info.

I learned to turn drums a few weeks back while working on the Beetle. I enjoyed it. Sadly, I have no lathe here.

                About $10/rotor.

In this day and age of the car manufacturers saving money, I'm pretty darn sure they took as much excess metal out of the rotors as possible.

for future reference....I can do loose(removed) rotors for 20 bucks a pair. If they are slip offs I can remove resurface and reinstall for 85 bucks a pair at the texaco express lube at 6975 cahaba valley road. For the google maps challenged that is the corner of 280 and 119. Lexus and toyota 4x4 SUVS with full hubs cost 170 for the front.
