My question to you is what class are you running - if it is part of the Solo classes and you have a roll bar (even with a hard top) you can have arm restraints. If you decide on a road racing class (subject to the GCR) with a full cage - go window net.Mark Rothermel

Correct me if things have changed since the last time I TT'd. You can run a road race class, such as ITA, with a 4-point bar and arm restraints. When the car gets logbooked it'll have Time Trial written on the cover."Its an incurable disease not to leave well enough alone." -Ricky

If you are running a car of a road race class, such as ITA you would need to meet the ITA requirements. If you are running a SOLO class such as street prepared or Street Modified, you would need at minimum a 4 point bar and arm restraints if you didn't have a window net.Originally posted by EWaugh View PostCorrect me if things have changed since the last time I TT'd. John is correct GCR based classes must now conform to the GCR in TT. This was discussed by the TTAC after a compliant of SpecMiata class cars showing up a NE hillclimbs with a roll bar - both sides of the issue where brought up and the GCR side won.Mark Rothermel

So the question is, which one is more annoying, arm restraints (which I feel would be totally awkward) or a window net.
If the volvo ever get's finished it's getting a window net.M. Cholewa
Because they heard I liked my name, so they put my name as my name so I could have my name in my name... all the time.

You won't even know the arm restraints are on, except to actually put them on.Originally posted by Cholewa View PostSo the question is, which one is more annoying, arm restraints (which I feel would be totally awkward) or a window net.

Since in an open wheel you don't have any option the arm restraints do not bother me while driving. Again if you are building a full cage then by all means go with the net - you will have structure to install the net and properly support it. You really don't want a flimsy set-up on a window net while hauling around a track.Mark Rothermel

I didnt like arm restraints at first but once i got used to them and got them adjusted to not get hung on the ebrake handle they were not noticed anymore except for being something else to put on. I choose not to have a net because i dont have a full cage and the car is still a street car. If it was a dedicated track car then a net would be in order.Ricky R
