  • Opinion on wideband's...

Well I am having to purchase a new wideband soon and I wanted to get everyone's opinion on all of the choices out there. I have used an AEM UEGO unit before and I like that one, but I know that market's change and I just wanted to be sure of all the options before making another decision.

    Thanks!

Not that it matters for your application, but the AEM offering only sends the wideband signal out as a 5v analog. Innovate has a full digital wideband output.

You can search and find tests showing that the Innovate is the most accurate, and also the same for Zeitronix. Maybe AEM as well.

for the money, the best choice, IMO, is the Innovate LC-1. No gauge. Just connect when you log and get it right. If you want a gauge, get the AEM, but I really do think that Innovate is more accurate, especially since you can recalibrate the sensor over it's life to maintain accuracy.

Or, just borrow my LM-1 while tuning like I suggested.

Well the issue is I have to have at the very least a narrow band sensor in order for the MS3 to work. So I may as well get the LC-1 if I don't want a gauge. I really can't see needing a gauge as long as I'm N/A...

Can you add a gauge to the LC-1 later if desired?

Yes. And you can use a standard analog or the Innovate digital gauge with it.

Also, you can get a universal narrowband for like $30. Just a standard Bosch 1v sensor.

BTW, do you know if Tuner Studio can log simultaneous wideband data from a COM port or does it have to be wired to the ECU itself?

Bosch 1V? You have a part number?

And I don't know about it will have to look it up...

Just searched on AdvanceAutoParts.com for "o2 Sensor." Under replacement parts there is an NTK sensor for $26 and the Bosch is $46. Figure out how many wires you need (likely 3 ... heater, signal and ground) and get that one.

I will need three wires so that way it will be heated and will work acurately under all engine conditions. Are the NTK sensors good? I found some Denso sensor's as well and I know they are good(OEM for Toyota).

Bosch and Denso will be the OEM stuff. NTK will be Chinese knockoff. But, for half the price, will it last more than 1/2 as long as a Bosch/Denso? Probably.

If you plan to tune with the AFR I would strongly recomend the wideband with a guage . Thats just my preference . I have the innovate and it has worked good so far . I did have to replace the sensor once (overheated it )but it is 45 bucks at advance . Bosch VW 5 wire sensor .
