  • Machine Shops and transmission gurus?

Ok, I am planning to have some things done to my MSP while I am deployed, that way when I return I will be ready to rock and roll with at least a forged motor with a fresh head. Any suggestions on who does the best machine work in, near, or around B ham? I won't really be around to do the actual driving, Im relying on a friend to run my block to the machine shop with my forged internals to get it machined. Im thinking I may want to wait until I am home in order to get the specs I want on the bottom end.

Also, I will be rebuilding my tranny again, this time with either PAR synchromesh gears$$$$ or gtx internals(most likely). I don't mind doing the work but I need some help getting gears off. I am a DIY all the way, more for the fact that most shops charge a ton. My car will only make about 250-275 whp with the possibility of 300whp, which is the known limit of my crappy glass tranny. Any suggestions will be mucho appreciated. I want to get my MSP worthy of SCCA events as soon as I can after I get back from deployment. Thanks
