The Miata and Camaro quit at almost the exact same time. The theory was that the Camaro would be a backup for the Miata and the "new" van. We ended up using the old van as a backup, for a couple of weeks, which sucked (gas.)

Now that the Miata's running again (thanks to John W8,) it's time to try, some time, to figure out what's wrong with the Camaro - lots of spark, but no fire, is all we know for now. (It has a recently-replaced fuel pump, and a fuel pump relay didn't help.)

You could see the burn mark between components where the high-water mark was. . .

On the Camaro, pay close attention to what the security light does when you turn the key on Chuck. A very well known problem on those cars (GM ) with the V.A.T.S chip key was the wires on the ignition lock cylinder would eventually break after the switch was turned enough times .

If this is the problem then...when you turn the key on and try and start the car and then let go of the starter with the key still in run ....the (security) light will flash rapidly .

Vats shuts down fuel(most importantly injector pulse) but not spark. You usually get a short crank up and stall then just spins.
