  • Question for Miata owners

I've got a new to me rear diff to put in my car and was thinking about replacing the rubber bushings. Has anyone done this? How hard is it to get the old ones out and new ones in? What would the benefit be and is it worth the time/ money/ effort to replace them. The current ones have about 67k on them. Comments please.......

I've never replaced them but it looks to be a pain in the arse. At 67k miles they are probably still good as is unless they are dried out and cracked in which case I'd replace them.

Are you coming out to play soon?

Not sure. I'm trying to get my daily driver back on the road. The motor went out on me so I had to start driving my red Miata to work every day. While I was driving it the rear end went out on me. So I took the good rear end out of my daily driver that was parked with the bad motor and put it in my autocross car so I would have at least one running car. I've gotten an engine and rear end, now I just have to find the time to get them installed. It would be nice to have them in my autocross car ( '99 motor with 4:30 torsen ) but that would mean 2drivetrain swaps. Not sure I'm up for that.
