      Track Days

I would like to get into this type driving.I want to bring it on the 25th,but all the calipers need rebuilt,I dont have the mula to fix them this month, fuel pump and pulse senders took my extra change this month.I also got to buy a belt tensioning tool, since I am not yet at the point to do it by feel.

belt tension is simple, push down on the belt with your index finger. If it goes down more than an inch or so, tighten. It should be relatively easy to push it down an inch, if it's not easy, then it's too tight.

With all these forums I've been reading on,it wouldnt take much of a wrong tension to get some bent valves,Clarks garage is the main site I have been studying on.He does not recomend anything other than the gage. This car has a bad vibration at idle,Imean big time vibration,Clarks said it could be motor mounts or lower balance shaft out 180 deg.So I am checking balance shaft alighment. Couldnt tell when Itore it down, but know it is now , after I fooled with it . Anyway going to order flywheel lock, and KRICKET tensioner tool .The car had been sitting since 1993.It runs out strong, but the brakes were locked up.I got them freed up by some high speed stop and go.But this got every caliper leaking fluid.

Got the belts on ,have a kricket belt tension tool for sale 20.00,what a waste that is,any way must have loosened tightened 100 times trying to see if I could get the whining gone.I feel confident with the 90 degree twist tension check, brakes rebuilt, headlights and wiper problem, so I couldnt even drive the car tonight, the sun will rise tho.

Its running pretty good now, gona pull the belts again and put Afront seal in when I get one.Insurance tommorow. Some electrical issues other than that, I got to figure out how to drive it. I havent had a sports car since my 73 240z in 1978.
