  • Want to by Race Ramps, Miata Tie Down

So I got a good deal on a car hauler, but it doesn't have a dove tail and the slide in ramps are only about 4 feet long with big lips on each side. Currently I'm making it just barely work with some Rhino Ramps and a 2x10, but I'd love to have some real Race Ramps or something similar.

Also, here's an easier one: I need a driver's side NA Miata baby tooth (factory tie down).

I always feel bad for the saps that have to put three boards together and a ramp and jack the trailer just right...

I would probably take your current setup to a fab shop and see if they can extend your current ramps, or maybe hinge and extend them.

      Maybe add a dove tail?

Turn the ramps over so that the tops are flat. Reweld the tabs that hook onto your trailer.

Maybe post a pic of your setup.

I'm sure someone could make some alterations to the trailer and/or ramps and make it work, but I was thinking that would cost about as much as some NEW race ramps. But maybe not. I really don't know. The tabs being flipped would definitely help but I think the ramps would probably still be too short and the slots they fit in won't take any longer ramps.

At the car's current ride height the ramps need to have at least 17 degrees of incline without taking into account the lips on the sides of the ramps. Some Race Ramps (or other trailer ramps) that elevate the trailer's factory ramps at least 6 inches will work fine for loading on flat ground.

Anyway, that's how my current thought process is going. I appreciate any input and I'll try to post a picture later!

The club bought RaceRamps from Summit Racing. Order by 5, have them the next day with ground shipping.

Summit had a 10% sale on Race Ramps right before I bought the trailer and realized I would definitely need them .... I was just hoping someone had some lying around they wanted to get rid off.

Cool! PM me a price. Are you coming to the next autocross or the club race? I'll be at both.

My ramps are exactly like yours - except upside down. Flipping them is a matter of some cutting and rewelding. If you're up around Decatur, I can do this for you.

That would be great! I'll just have to make a trip up there sometime. Let me know when would be good.
