  • Wastegate actuator rod end

Mine disappeared somewhere at verizon and I need a new one.

The threaded portion is 1/4 thread, but I'm not entirely sure what the hole diameter is for the wastegate flapper. I bought one from some website and the hole is too small and I am unsure if there is enough material to allow me to drill it out to fit.

If anyone has a spare one of these laying around and is interested in a couple bucks, I would be elated.

Or if someone has a blank one, that could work as well.

Darryl, it's round/hex that is internally threaded on one end. The other end flattens and has a single hole. Maybe 3/16" diameter/width. You could likely fab one with 1/2" or 3/16" hex.

Chuck, pretty sure the wastegate arm has a "peg" that slides in to the hole and is held on with a cotter pin. It would require a bit of modification to make a bolt work.

If you can't find it at McMaster is does not exist (or is specific to the car). Easy button is remove the arm, drill for a common bolt/rod end, attach, and forget. CB

It's actually got a circlip that holds it on. A cotter pin would have been much more thoughtful.

Ah ... my shift cables were like that. Might want to drill it for a cotter pin while it's off?

I'm not taking the turbo off to do any of this. It's all staying on the car.

Isn't the turbo right there on the right side? Is the flapper rod not easy to get to?

It is on the side, but the wastegate and the rod are on the bottom side of the turbo, so I have to go from beneath it if I want to see anything. Which means I can put the thing on from the top side, but theres no way in hell I can get the circlip to go on without looking.
