Anyone have a trusted GM mechanic in the Birmingham area? A good friend has a pristine 04 Denali that he would like to save. Motor noise has been diagnosed as a lifter needing a top-end rebuild. At the dollars he was initially quoted I have suggested getting more opinions and also consider just putting in a rebuilt 6.0. The truck has a lot of sentimental value, is in fantastic condition, and has about 120k on it.
