  • Muffler/resonator removal

I'm looking for a little more sound on the cheap and thinking removing the resonator from my car. Does anyone have a suggestion for an exhaust shop to do this for a reasonable price? Or maybe a club member that can do this sort of work?

Don't remove resonators. They only improve sound. Muffler removal might work though. Any time I've had exhaust work done that I didn't do myself, or any time my friends ask of a shop, Lackey Muffler in Pell City does fantastic work, for the cheaps.

        sorry...I can't hear you

Public Service Announcement: Please note that when Nicky V gives advice regarding exhausts he only speaks of sound quality and never of sound level. To quote him directly: "I never said it wouldn't be loud...I just said it would sound awesome"

To be fair, my daily is not loud by any means at all. And it has a muffler delete. I even got the second and third opinions by old grumpy people in my neighborhood and was given a nod of approval. So, shut up! Haters...

I must push the M3 out of the basement before cranking it because the sound level produced at idle is weakening the structural integrity of my home. New muffler hopefully going on tomorrow!

Not to mention those sticky tires are pulling up the foundation. Buy some all-seasons. Quick!

I love relative comparison ... the Evo is super quiet after driving the Beetle for a while. =)
