  • Need a Miata shop recommendation for UA.

A guy who's girlfriend's daughter is in Tuscaloosa has sent me this PM on Miata.net. I have no idea who would be a good shop/resource to recommend, but figured some of our members from up that way could offer some advice. Here is what Charles sent to me.

My Girlfriends daughter is a student there at Alabama" roll tide" uh roll Alburn ..loll Anyway She called me today with question about her clutch in 1992 miata. She says its not engaging all the time. They had put a clutch in it about 1.5 yrs ago and it shouldnt be destroyed already. I think it just may need adjusting or a new clutch slave cylinder? I was wondering if you knew any enthusiaist in the area or a local non dealer that fixes miatas that wont screw her if thats all it needs. She has gone to a few places and they just tell her to get a new clutch..without even assessing it. Im just reaching out to see if I can get a little direction for her..Im 600 miles away in NC and can help her. By the way if you ever come this way or I come that way I'll give you a ride in my miata beast. 400 rwhp turbo. You can check out my thread by searching "Custom Turbo Project" thats me the

Let me know what you fellows think and I'll pass it along. Thanks much!

No affiliation, but I bet they can fix it. Sounds like a slave cylinder or just needs the system bled.

I would think twice before taking your mazda to this dealership. Although the stories are quite old, I have heard some horror stories about that place.
