  • where do you buy your race rubber

yup Erv's going to cheater slicks

I have some suspension coming and am looking for some Rcomps to compliment that set.

I am looking for hankooks but would not be averse to kuhmo's.

the few places i found online don't have the size I am looking for in stock.

ummmmm... I was just told by Phil to only expect 25-30 runs outta the tires, or is that 25-30 runs at optimal efficiency?

The way you drive you might get 10-12.

25-30 would probably be the good part of the tire. you might squeeze another 20 with less than ideal grip. I usually get 45 runs out of Rcomps but the last 10 are way less grippy.

At the SSSS last year, Josh and I corded a new set of Hankooks. Good luck.

I get Kumhos form TireRack. Order online and drop ship to the person mounting the tire.

I have bought 'Kooks from Frisbee/Sierra.
They ship really fast and have reasonable shipping.

This is why I'm getting a harder compound tire ... I won't compete with A6s, but my pocket will like me better.

I hear these numbers and frankly I don't have that issue... I ran the evo school at Dixie with hoosier front tires that had 100 runs on them... and the instructor thought the car had great grip. Wonder what he would have thought if he had the chance to run the set I had with only 20 runs on them. I have run several sets of hoosiers and always get more than 100 runs on a set. Now mind you I don't run them in birmingham.... and I flip them somewhere around 50-60 runs. There rears never "wear out"... however, near the end of life on the fronts there is not a lot of grip in the rear. I also replace them in full sets... Hello $1400.....

I think the life span of the tires relates a lot to how hard your car is on tires and how hard you are on tires. As well of course the surface you normally compete on.

Just trying to help the "oh my only 20 runs" scare......

My reading of opinions tells me the hankooks would last longer than the Kumhos which last longer than Hoosiers..
