  • For Sale 1999 BMW M3 - STU Prep

So I thought I'd throw this out there to see if anyone is interested. There's a car I've always wanted to build, and that same car has come up for sale just about the exact same way I'd build one… but I'd have to sell the M3 first to be able to consider buying it. So I'm posting my M3 for sale. Even if I can't sell it in time to get the car I want then I'll keep trying to sell with the idea to get a more nationally competitive auto-x car.

Onto the specs for my car. I've got an excel spreadsheet with more detailed info for anyone interested:

    Asking $9000 for everything.

1999 M3 with just under 170k miles (I bought it with ~123k miles) and the following mods and extras:

    Engine/Transmission/drivetrain:
    • Previous owner had a cooling system overhaul done at 104k miles including all the normal items plus new headgasket, fan clutch and fan switch
    • Previous owner replaced the flex disc/guibo at 121k miles
    • I did a cooling system overhaul @ 162k miles with Z3 S54 M radiator, metal impeller water pump, new overflow tank, overflow tank hose, new radiator hoses, new t-stat, new mounting clips, etc
    • Valve cover gasket and seals @ 155k miles
    • Plus and ignition coil boots @ 155k
    • All accessory belts replaced @ 162k
    • Bosch Fuel filter @ 155k
    • K&N Intake
    • BimmerWorld 3" race exhaust
    • 3" 100 cel MilSpec cat welded into resinator pipe
    • BimmerWorld y-pipe for race exhaust (bolts to stock headers)
    • BavAuto Shark Programmer for stock engine, mainly for 7k rev limit in all gears
    • Group N bimmerworld replica motor mounts
    • BimmerWorld transmission mounts
    • UUC Underdrive pulleys – water pump & PS pump (no alt)
    • UUC short shifter with DSSR
    • AKG 95A rear diff mounts
    • AKG 95A rear subframe mounts
    • Always used Valvoline VR1 racing synthetic oil 20w-50 since I’ve owned it
    • BimmerWorld wheel studs all around
    • Metal undertray from previous owner, perhaps Motion Motorsports?

    Suspension / brake:
    • Koni Yellows on all 4 corners
    • GC coil over front sleeves
    • GC articulating adjustable spring perches in rear
    • Hypercoil springs 650F/800R
    • H&R 28mm front swaybar
    • Vorschlag camber/caster plates
    • Strut tower reinforcement plates
    • Upgraded rear shock mounts
    • UUC adjustable rear lower control arms
    • stock rear sway bar
    • PowerFlex front LCA bushings
    • PowerFlex rear trailing arm bushings (RTAB)
    • Vorshlag RTAB limiters

    Other:
    • Street wheels are Contour Style staggered, 7.5” front, 8.5” rear

    • 1-1/4” Trailer hitch
    • Alpine CD player w/ iPod/USB hookup in glove compartment
    • Complete OEM tool kit in truck (this seems to be big with the BMW crowd)
    • OEM owners manual in BMW leather binder

    Extras:
    • Apex ARC-8 wheels 17x9 with RE71-R tires
    • BimmerWorld 12mm spacers for ARC-8 wheels

    • 4’x4’ Harbor Freight trailer with custom deck, locking tool box, bearing buddy on both wheels
    • Spare black center console with armrest that is in near perfect shape
    • front windshield seals and trim - this is the only flaw, car has a crack in the front windshield
    • Any other E36 BMW related items in my garage can go with it, spare cabin filters, spare oil filters, etc

This car is ready to go for Auto-X or HPDE duty. Add a 4 point bar, certified drivers seat, and 5 point harness and take it out to do Time Trials. Keep it how it is and run STU at local auto-crosses and have an instantly competitive car.

Any questions shoot me a PM or post up here. Thanks for looking!

Good luck with sale Jerry. The car is awesome. If I can get my POS back before weekend, I will see you Sunday. Pressure plate and clutch being replaced. I'll trade you even for my black E36 and a Nick Saban autographed football. I'll let you think about it over the weekend.

Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car and oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car.
Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall and torque is how far you take the wall with you.

                  Soooooo....

Does this mean I should go ahead and bring a blank bill of sale and the title with me to the event this weekend?
