I'm trying to free up some cash to make a real estate investment before the end of the year. I've decided to put the M5 up for sale. You lucky dog, you. Here's the details.
2001 BMW M5
5.0l V8. 6 spd manual, 400hp/368tq, power seats, sunroof, factory nav, cd changer, Xenon headlights, automatic dual zone climate control, heated seats, heated mirrors. Almost all factory options.
Black/Black with Titanium trim
71k miles
ALWAYS factory serviced with all records
I have over $10k in receipts for service history
Anyone can tell you I am very meticulous when it comes to maintenance.
Tires are new Dunlop Direzzas with less than 1k miles.
Also replaced in the last 2 years: thermostat, water pump, tank vent valve,
Vanos unit, clutch and flywheel, rear sway bar end links.
Almost every common issue with this car has already been addressed.
Car has only had factory parts used with the exception of K&N drop in filters.
Things that could use attention:
Wheels were refinished once and the finish is peeling. Quote to refinish is $400
Rt front wheel is bent. I was waiting to replace tires to see if that was in fact the case. It is.
Thrust rod bushings are worn. Common wear item that I'll probably end up replacing
unless someone's ready to jump now.
Rear sunshade had broken clips. They all do. I won't fix it.
Driver's door panel has a loose leather panel. Could be easily fixed by trim shop.
Instrument cluster has pixels missing. They all do. I was going to get around to repairing one day. Hasn't happened yet.
Everyone knows the E39 M5 is the best car ever made. This is a great example that won't leave you dissapointed. This car is very nice and will hold its value well, but it's not too nice to drive.
Here's the best part. These cars with under 100k miles always sell for upwards of 20k. Throw away the book. Don't believe me? Look at M5 board or your BMW forum of choice. NADA loan value on this car is $17000.
I'm asking $16,500 as-is.
Come get it before I change my mind.
