'Twas more of a I'd love to drive a car with that much tire under it than anything.

How would these work on a 7" wide wheel?

The Hoosier specs show wheel sizes from 7-8.5, so the answer is yes. If you buy the 4, I'll throw in two of the exact same tires that were damaged by rubbing on the fender (just one 15 minute session on the tires). The damage is too great for me to run them on the track, but I wouldn't hesitate to run them for autocross if that is your intent.

I don't know, those tires are gonna be awfully big for a 7" wide wheel. I'm trying to keep my car around IT specs. The wheels I'm going to be getting are kosei k1's 15x7 and that's what most of the IT guys run(Flatout Motorsports). However, I have not found in the rules for ITS that say anything definate about wheel width. I'm also trying to keep my tire circumfrance as short as possible since I am only running a 4.10 gear ratio for now(fyi, 5.12 is the spec).

Thoughts? I mean the usual tire most everyone runs is a 225/50/15 on a 7" wide wheel...I'd hate to buy the tires and they not work because of a rub, or if the handling is just crappy.

Can't say how it will work for your application. I needed more tire for my car (2,500lbs, 226 rwhp) and the 245 did the track, while allowing me to still run my 15" wheels. The tire increased mid-corner grip and braking dramatically compared to the 225/45-15's I had been running.

I can't comment on how the tires will work on a 7" wheel, I only ran them on 8"s. The Hoosier data on width and such come from tires mounted on 7.5"s.

I've got a set of 235 Toyo 888's with very little use on them for sale as well (see other thread).

ITA and ITS both read as a 7" max. I think ITR gets a 7.5"

                              Vince,

You are welcome to borrow one of the damaged ones, have it mounted and check for rub.
