  • 86 Mazda RX7

    The good
    Mazda rebuilt longblock
    Racing Beat sidedraft Carb
    New header (in a box)
    New exhaust (in a box)
New mallory ignition (also in a box)

It's an 86 with a manual, roughly 5k on the new engine. A friend of mine is relocating to Australia in the coming months and is purging some of his belongings.

The bad: paint is.. well, it's an 86.
    The interior is partially installed
It is suggested that you bring a trailer

I should get some pics up in a little bit.
1500 Firm - photos in the later posts.

Price bump, he's moving in March, $1500 takes it!

        Is this Patrick Hutto's RX7?

If it is, its a perfect MR rallycross vehicle. Patrick ran it for about 2 years. I believe its pretty much ready to go! Dont miss a deal...

No, it belongs to Matt Mullis. I think he was semi-involved in the local scene a while ago.

Same question as above. Why does the car need to be towed? Is there something specific wrong with it?

So the story behind it was that it ran, and he took it to get painted by a certain someone, who took it apart, never finished painting it, and by then Matt was tired of waiting so he had it towed home. Everything to make it run is there, but as it sits it does not run.

From what I understand it just needs a few things bolted on in the engine compartment, a battery, and some fresh fuel and it should start up. The interior is half assembled as well, so it's not really a car you can go see, fiddle with, and drive home.

This is what the car looked like when I took it Q's. Right now the fenders, bumper, hood and tails are off it. All the parts are there. They just need to be put back on. Q disassembled the car and then didn't touch it. I just have a bucket of bolts. Also, the tires were brand new on the car when it got parked. They are probably out of round right now but will easily roll to get on a trailer. The engine is mostly prepped for the carb swap. Just need to swap manifolds, install the new header/full exhaust and let her go. The engine is a new mazda factory re-furb. When I drove it last I could bark the tires in 3rd pretty easily. Should have no issues with it. I'm including the mallory hi-fire ignition system and full exhaust all brand new in box, the racing beat carb manifold and weber side draft carb kit as well. Just those parts would be $1500. The wife needs the car gone so we can get the house listed for sale ASAP
