  • For Sale 1988 BMW 325is

I am trying to sell my E30. I am selling because I recently bought a foreclosed home and some of the repairs needed are costing more than what was originally estimated. I am located in Auburn, AL.

The car is a 1988 325is 5 speed. It is Bronzit with black interior and currently has 310k miles on it. I was originally going to turn it into a SpecE30 racer but decided to go the auto-cross / track day route with future plans to do SCCA Time Trials and Hill Climbs. I built it to follow the STX class rules. This was a great car for my first year auto-crossing as STX has a good PAX and I was able to win our local novice points championship. Unfortunately I won't be able to continue on to do TT and hill climbs but I can still enjoy auto-crossing in my E36 M3.

This car would be a good starting point for a SpecE30 car, most parts are legal minus the coilovers which could possibly be sold for more than the SpecE30 suspension. Or it would make the perfect auto-x / track day car with the ability to still drive it everyday if needed.

Some general info about the car:
    • All of the power parts work: windows, sunroof, side views, antenna, I even replaced actuators until all of the door locks work as they should from any key location
    • No cracks in the dash!
    • 13 button OBC, everything works
    • AC quit working about a year after I got the car, the PO had converted to 134, I believe the compressor is now shot
    • The gas gauge needle is flaky, however the low fuel light works perfect
    • The clear coat is gone on different spots on the hood, roof, decklid
    • Plastic bumpers aren't in perfect shape but look better than the diving boards
    • There's a dent above the left rear wheel
    • The car starts every time, I take it on 4 hour one way road trips to auto-x events with no problems and never worry about it

I know their are a lot of miles on the car but I did a ton of maintenance. A somewhat complete list can be seen here: Google Doc Link I can't guarantee I wrote down everything I did (like new clamps on all hoses) but it's 90+% complete. Unless an item says it was "used" then it was replaced with a brand new part from Pelican. I have a stack of receipts that will go along with the car.

The big maintenance items include but are not limited to:
    • Plastic bumper swap
    • Head cleaned, surface, & new valve stems installed
    • All new gaskets during when the head was freshened up, Goetze head gasket with new bolts
    • Brand new cam, rockers, eccentrics and hardware

Pictures I took of the car last weekend:

I am asking $6000 obo with both sets of wheels
. If you'd only like one set then I'm will to drop the price depending on which set.

Please respond here or PM me if you're interested or would like more information. I can get more pics and send them out by e-mail if needed.

Chuck - They are 3 into 1 with 1-3/8" primaries into 2" collectors. I'm willing to sell separate if you're interested. I have the coated option and I bought them in this group buy:

Never installed, they're just sitting in my garage. I paid almost $750 shipped for the set. If you're interested make me a reasonable offer. I can meet up for delivery just about anywhere in AL.

Was afraid they were 1 3/8" I'm running 1 1/2" Stahl but like the way the BAS headers have both the collectors ending in the same place...makes the collectors easier to configure. Thanks anyway, Chuck

One last bump and price drop to $6000 OBO with both sets of wheels.

If it doesn't sell soon I'll probably start parting it out. If any of you know of someone interested in any parts please let them know. I'd rather sell as much of it "local" as I can before posting on r3v and other sites.

Too bad. I love that E30. Let me know if you ever get the itch to sell the E36 M3.
