I can't really say enough about how much fun this thing has been the last 2 years. I have done most of the stuff it needs to be a real good autocross car...here are some of the good and bads of owning this thing.
The car is a converted FSAE car from Bradley University in Indiana built in 1999. It has a 900cc Kawasaki ninja motorcycle engine. (tuned up last winter) Sequential gear box (use clutch for taking off then never touch it again to up/down shift) Wheel base is 80" and it weighs 662 without driver. It has been corner balanced. The car also comes with a real nice list of spares. Complete spare 900cc motor, gear sets, brake pads, about 15 tires, a carbon fiber rear wing (not installed), 2 more sets of springs, fire bottle, manual, and my knowledge of the car, etc. Also, you get the trailer I have been using to transport it with. Can be bought without the trailer for a little less. (Not much)
I have driven this thing to several (10-12) FTD's in the last 2 years and it is a head turner at every event. You won't have more fun for the dollar than this thing offers.
So what is the negative of owning such a machine? Obviously NOT street legal, it is a one seater so no ride alongs, it is NOT TT legal but could be real easily. It has to be towed to an event. (I towed it with a Miata from Mobile when I bought it)
So do you want an FTD machine and the wildest ride you have ever experienced? Contact me....asking price for everything including the trailer is $5000. That's cheaper than a decent shifter kart! Of course I will offer a test ride to SERIOUS potential owners. NO JOY RIDES. This thing will bite you in the "hello" if you get crazy with it.
Project "LSGun" is underway!
Plenty of pics available just contact me on the TAC/TVR website
