My brother, a friend and i went in together on a 58 GMC for $50 a piece for a truck just like that one, except it had the V8. No windows, column shifter was broke, no floorboards, no battery, no bed, done tires and it was rusty with no paint. We got some donated plexi-glass, sheetmetal for floorboards (with some "nice"shag carpet to go over it), 3 speed shifter on the floor, went around the neighborhood and got everybody's old paint and painted the truck with brushes, (of course when we mixed all the paint together it turned out grey) bumpers black, and my stepfather painted red bull horns across the hood. Plywood screwed down in the bed, we were almost ready to cruise. We bought a set of re-caps, changed the oil, and put an 8 track in the glove box. Now for the 1st cruise. We got the neighborhood kids together, pushed her off and she fired. Man we were bad to the bone. We drove that thing to school for almost 2 years and always parked on the downslope until we could afford a battery. When we graduated (i know some of you believe that i didn't) we drove it all the way to Myrtle Beach and towed a friends car back in that unforgettable truck. I wonder if she still lives somewhere?
