Forum will no longer be utilized!

After facing many challenges with utilization of this forum for many years, the board voted on the evening of 1/12/2026 to stop use of the forum in favor of the modern, more effective means.

Most of our general club organization will now be coordinated via Discord and results from our events along with schedules and announcements will be hosted on our main alscca.net webpage.

What does this mean for the old forum? Well, in short we are going to stop using it. This has been reviewed several times in the past few years, and there has been a desire for some of more tenured members of the club to have the historic content preserved. In an effort to preserve this content, it was discovered that we could not simply export the content to be placed in a modern website. This forum will now become an archive only forum and will not be monitored. If you wish to preserve any of the content, this is your time to search the pages to find it. There is no promise that this content will remain available forever with the fragile nature of this forum.

So I dusted off the torque app and the ELM327 after autox the other day thinking that getting video while data logging throttle input / boost / rpm / and some accelerametor data might be slightly handy.

Any good recommendations on mounts for the car that actually stay in place and don't vibrate all over the place? Phone is a Galaxy S3 if that makes a difference.

Haven't used it, but this one looks decent:

My suggestion is to avoid the "universal" ones, and instead find one made for your phone (they hold much better in during our maneuvers). Also, I like the solid arms, instead of the ones that have the flexible ones, as they don't shake as bad.

Only problem is that my phone has a 7k MAH extended battery, which would prevent me from using that one. though, hell for this i might have to go that way. I can't seem to find a universal that looks solid.

I think I have the iBolt version for my S3, and it's got a removable insert to deal with cases and such. It may hold your battery. Mine works with the Flip cover folded back, which takes up some room.
