So far, I've edited and posted most of the best of group one. I'll work on group two ASAP. (The computer's doing a much-needed backup procedure, right now, that's keeping me away from the photos.)

Now that the Big Backup(TM) is done, I see that I have a few more of group one. Sorry it's taking so long, but they expect me to show up at the "real job" occasionally. . .
To purchase photos, click Buy and follow the menus. Clicking on Change Product will show you all of the types of prints, merchandise, and individual downloads you can buy.Originally posted by jledford View PostI like the pic of me chasing cones! How much are the pics?
If you would like to download more than 9 pictures, you can get them all for less than the price of 10 individual downloads. Let me know, and I'll make a gallery with your car so you can get the discount.Chuck Schultz

Ah, I see the buy button now. I was on my phone last night and I guess the mobile version of the site did not have a buy feature.
Is there any discount for ALSCCA members? Other than the multiple download?
I'm used to being able to buy a full CD of original size photos for ~$80 per CD (minimum 30 photos over a race weekend, usually closer to 45 or 50) when I raced with WERA so $49 for one original kind of shocked me when I saw it.
I drove in the second run group so I'll wait and see how many shots of my car are available.- Jerry Ledford

If you shop around and pay in advance, you can probably get a CD at a WERA event for $50. However, I'm not offering you a bunch of look-alike images, just the best that I have. You aren't paying for square inches of images, but for the shot or shots that you really like, which help you preserve the memory of that day.Originally posted by jledford View Post$80 per CD
I'm not just dumping pictures on the website right out of camera. I used to do that when I was using a consumer grade point-and shoot camera. Now, I'm taking time to make each photo as good as I can. That's why it's taking so much time to get them all online.
I don't have a display with the pixel count to show my photos at full resolution, and you probably don't either, since they can be as large as 4928 × 3264 pixels. The originals are only really needed if you want to make large prints. Most folks want something large enough to share on Facebook (Web Size 640x480 up to 0.3 Mpix,) or to use as a computer desktop background image (Low-Res 1Mpix.)
Thanks for your interest. I hope you like what I have of your car when I post them.Last edited by chuck schultz; 07-25-2012, 05:37 AM. Reason: What I originally wrote sounded snotty - I hope it doesn't now.Chuck Schultz

As a fellow photographer, I can totally see Chuck's point. Even though it looks like we just walk around and take random pictures, it's a bit more than that. When was the last time you went to any kind of motorsport event, and spent the entire day snapping one-of-a-kind photographs, of everything that you can get your lens pointed at, only to go home that night, and dump an easy two to three THOUSAND shots onto your computer and start to sort through "the good ones"?Originally posted by chuck schultz View PostIf you shop around and pay in advance, you can probably get a CD at a WERA event for $50. It's way more work than most anyone realizes...but it is fun, in a sick and twisted sort of way I suppose.
However, where I must take a different side from Chuck here, is that where he is totally right about the work he put into the single piece he created, that value won't hold the same to someone else, even if it's something of importance to them in the image. Especially when you factor in a few things. An autocross (local level to be precise), the registration fee was minuscule compared to that of a track day at road course of some sort. The experience overall wasn't nearly as special (not saying it wasn't an awesome day). The amount someone is going to be willing to pay is much less here at an autocross, than what they'd pay for their first time trial event, where they made it on the podium, after spending the whole night fixing their car, and numerous other struggles. It would mean a lot more there...
Anyway, end rant I guess...the point is, he can charge whatever he darn well pleases, and, if you want it, you'd have to pay it, cause he's the only one that has it, cause Clint was a slacker and didn't show up
Great photos, Chuck. I like the diversity in the coverage, and the thoughtful composition of the different shots. Nice stuff.Nick Stone
