I'd have to say this event was one of the most interesting of the year; the course seemed to be fairly tame until the last 4 turns, which is exactly where I shot most of the day. Just about every car had some sort of moment through there on one of their runs. And a few people were carrying enough speed through the cross over apex to get up on 2 wheels!

    Session 1 all ~100 photos: http://www.photrade.com/gallery.php?id=8716
    Session 2 all ~75 photos: http://www.photrade.com/gallery.php?id=8730

    Highlights from Session 1:

Up on 2 wheels, a preview frame for Transporter 3: Cone Killer Getaway

Cage sees your two wheels and raises you two wheels AND crossed up.

... many a Mustang reacts this way upon finding out it isn't actually at a dragstrip.

Coming in 2009, the hydraulic lift class

I had to break this up b/c of the 8 photo limit; see below for more photos from Group 1...

    Group 1 continued...

And here we go, along for the ride on one of the best spins of the day: "I've got this..."

    "I think I've got this..."

"back end passing front end... definitely not saving this."

    Cone impact

Oh, nice swirly black marks back there

Not to be out done, session 2 jumps two classics, a Porsche and a Corvette.

The corvette was very entertaining through that final part of the track.

Not that the miatas weren't either

Who says you can't tripod a station wagon? Nathan will take than bet all day.

Don't think the 2009 hydraulic lift class wouldn't be heavily contested.

The Porsche crowd let it pass this one time, but told him to never again mix an Auto Union style helmet with a Porsche Boxster.

Few know that Cage was a child prodigy in rhythmic gymnastics. To this day, when he sees a colorful silken fabric, he can't help but wave and twirl.

Once again, all Group 2 photos here: http://www.photrade.com/gallery.php?id=8730

ALSO: Coming Soon... A special project for the last race of the year, to benefit the charity. Details will be posted in a week or two...

awesome shots, it seems like that course layout provided for some good angles. two-wheelin' is unheard of!

as for the flag waving...oh the boredom of the work session...

Indeed, Chuck, I believe it was your Camaro that had me on my toes on one run; you came into that final complex a bit hot and got out of shape headed towards me! Of course things always look quite a bit closer through a telephoto lens than in reality...

Thanks for the comments guys! This course definitely offered up some great action.

Oh, and you forgot to push the button before you died?

Thanks to the safety stewards for making sure the course was safe.

Great shots bradley. I was wondering if you got a shot of my unusual finish, but i guess its a good thing you didn't.

Oh, yeah I didn't mean to imply at all that the course was unsafe; there was plenty of distance away. Just that through the telephoto you get the impression things are a bit closer!

David - I got plenty of shots of you well out of shape, but your dramatic finish was just a little too far away from me to get shots, but I surely saw it all! It takes some pretty precision driving to nick the cone in front of the timing lights, but not the lights themselves

David, I can imagine your thought process ...

"a little loose ... a little loose ... way looose ... alright, gotta get this back ... more countersteer ... get it back ... GET IT BACK ... not the lights ... NOT THE LIGHTS ... PLEASE NOT THE LIGHTS ...
