There's been very little activity on the site in the past few weeks. Starting to wonder if anyone is out there.

Who knows, normally by now it would be plastered all over the internet and maybe even in Sportscar. I haven't posted the info on any other forums because the powers that be are keeping us in the dark on the event. It looks like it will be a normal event with 45-50 drivers. I hope this is taken in to consideration when the course is designed, we can barely cover 4-5 worker stations as it is. Speaking of workers it might be a good time to get some volunteers for workers instead of waiting to the last minute, I won't make the mistake of doing it again.

I have been floating around a little, still trying to find me a car. I may be getting a 95 gsx eclipse this weekend, (yes a far move from what i was looking for originally, but ihave my reasons) And i plan on showing up for the July 12th event. I may not be doing any racing yet, just because i need to make sure the car is good to go and do some check up work myself before i start pounding on it.
I plan on being more active once i get a chance to get into some of the racing and just going to the events and meeting people.

I've put it up on the aSpeed forum (Auburn car club), and I'm kinda helping Michael with the vortex guys. One of the new guys with a GLI seems kinda promising...but pretty much everybody else wants to spend money on big turbo kits, wheelz, and slamming their car

Tricking out a car is cool...it's not something I like to do that much, but it's cool. I prefer the driving for the fun, not so much the detailing.Originally posted by Mowgli87 View PostI've put it up on the aSpeed forum (Auburn car club), and I'm kinda helping Michael with the vortex guys. I'm trying to get some of the older guys in bham together (vortexers) to drink and shoot the shit, which will hopefully lead to them not being pussies and coming out and racing.
Essentially, they don't want to get beat by a stock rabbit and a almost stock MK4gti.... because they've spent more money than anyone can conceive to make their cars slow.M. Cholewa
Because they heard I liked my name, so they put my name as my name so I could have my name in my name... all the time.

Don't get me wrong, I definitely like a tastefully modified car...and some of the VW's look GREAT with an aggressive stance. What really irritates me is a car that is outfitted with lots of race-bred parts then used in pure vanity, or with the self-conviction of having "a car that handles better on the street."

I plan to be at the Shootout and look forward to hanging out with you guys (and ladies [Alan Branch]) again. However, as the RX-8 is now living in Huntsville with its very happy owner, I will be bumming a ride from whomever needs help wearing out their tires.
Any takers?
