Okay okay...I give up.
Thinking of doing an SR20DET swap from an S14 Silvia.
For one thing, my rotary engine gets HORRIBLE gas mileage. 12 in the city and maybe 15,16 mpg on the highway. Also, it's incredibly loud-for those of you who haven't noticed. If it was just a race car, it would be no big deal, but I enjoy driving my car daily and I'm not really down with having a cop car magnet anymore. If I restrict the exhaust any more, I will just be taking away from what little hp the car has (about 150-160 whp).
So I figured I could throw one of those in there and get more hp and especially torque, not to mention way better gas mileage, say 20 in town and 29 on the highway, if driven responsibly. The SR motor should put down about 200 hp/200 tq at the wheels. Which in a car that weighs 2700 pounds should be pretty impressive.
I haven't made a definite decision yet, but I am strongly considering it.

323 = BP = Miata = RWD tranny. I personally would go with something a little more exotic like a Pinto engine if your going to pull the 13B. LSx and 20B swaps are too old school.

Darryl, are you taking offense to this or did I piss in your chereo's or what? lol
20B's are 4,000 bucks and that's without a tranny. LSX series swaps are about the same by the time you find a T56 for them.
I looked at some MX-5 turbo motors, but folks are wanting 4k just for the motor! GET REAL...Vincent C.

I was just teasing, no offense taken at all. I do get tired of the LSx and 20b swap rhetoric you get on almost all car forums, there are other engines than those two. In all seriousness, the cheap way to get power in an FC is a carbed ford 302. Okay, just making sure...lol. And believe me, I get tired of reading the 2jz, 20b, rb26dett swap crap myself. "Can I 2jz my metro?!?!" <Argh>
I can agree with that statement. And believe it or not, I used to be a Ford guy. My first car was a 1966 Mustang with a 200 cubic inch inline six. I have owned a few 5.0's since then. Now that would be nice. I just think that the torque and hp will be a little much. I don't want to go over about 300 whp. I feel like any more than that and it would just be pointless in the twisties.
Ervin, wtf are you talking about EM? I don't think anyone else around here runs in EM so that means I would be an instant ass kicker, right? LOL!!!Vincent C.
