  • F1 qualifying

Well, tweaking one of the few things not broken in F1 seems to have had poor results. Haas out in Q1 during a hot lap that would have been good for Q2. 3 solid minutes at the end of Q3 with no cars on track. Why Bernie?

They should move the timing line to right before pit-in like Indycar and that would help a little.

Just a total failure. And what really got me was how at the end of each 90 seconds the slow car was eliminated immediately, EXCEPT on the last 90 second countdown of the session when the driver was able to complete his lap and it counted. How does that even make sense much less is fair?!? Oh well, I'm on to watching the 12 hrs of Sebring.

At least F1 was intelligent enough to realize their failure and scrap the new qualifying format for the next race.

That new qualifying format was an unmitigated disaster for the drivers, teams and fans.

A great race made up for the horrible qualifying format. Ferrari showed that they have closed the gap to Mercedes and Haas scored points. I am so glad Alonso was able to walk away from his accident.
