i didnt get to play it as much i hoped for yesterday, power went out for several hours during the storm, but it has a much better feel than anything else i have played on the console. the things that are adjustable seem to be accurately adjustable, although i haven't played w/ it that much yet. i haven't tried the campaign yet, that is the part that the reviews blasted. the feel and accuracy seems to be realistic, but more forgiving than gtr (i play in car w/ all assists off except abs, so it's not the electronics helping intentionally). also, i haven't tried any of the open wheel cars yet.
if anyone wants to try it i would be available on sun &/or i could bring my xbox to seans for the virtual autocross.
ervin, or anyone else, send me a friend request & we'll do some online racing. i'm waflet on live as well.
Srsly, disappointed, not even as much ff as forza, if the car breaks loose its gone, you can't save it, prolly a good sim for a console, but seriously disappointed, not alot of tracks, I do like the WTCC races. AI is decent, but rather slow.
I'd like to give it a look see if you want to bring it over Bill ...
Erv, if you like WTCC, you should come over and try out Race '07. It's a pretty good sim with above average AI. A little better than rFactor (the AI) I'd say. It's also got the Mini races which are always fun.
Race Pro is Race 07, lol. Simbin has said for 2 years that it would be a direct port, but I am hearing that it's not. I'm also hearing that if you spend some time calibrating the regular Xbox control it feels very good. Much more grip reflecting a better tire model than any other console based game.
Sounds like a step in the correct direction. I have to reserve judgement until I get my hands on it though. I know this is going to sound snobbish but I really don't care . If you are evaluatiing any game on the feel of that thing microsoft has the nerve to call a wheel you have completely lost your mind!
exactly why you should take the time to get the hand held controller dialed in. If you treat it as a game I hear it is very good. The 360 and a wheel is a complately useless combo.
Race Pro is definitely not Race '07. It's much more arcadey ... Ervin and I left my place from playing Race '07 and went to Pat's and played Race Pro to get that comparison. Race pro is EASY to drive in comparison. But, it does seem to have more tracks and cars than Race '07 which is a plus.
I used the wheel on the 360 and it was very disconnected. No feedback and not sense of what the car was doing. I overdrove the car 80% of the time and still ended up on the podium. You can apparently go 100% braking in to a corner and turn in with full traction ... who knew?
pretty sure Race Pro is Race 07 and Evo combined for the console. Does RacePro have the Gumpert in it? If so, that's from Evo.
My biggest questions are, how is the online component and did they make it easier to set up league type formats to race with your friends? If they got that right they have a hit.
