  • Here is the current deal on State Troopers

According to Cullman's local trash talker, I mean message board:
"Here is the deal on State Troopers.
    February 17 2009 at 4:02 AM

Each Trooper is instructed to have two "hazardous contacts" per hour. The upper echelon is not allowed to tell the Troopers to write tickets because that would be considered a "quota", that is why they are called "hazardous contacts".

The second point is that recently they were instructed that they were not to write written warnings any longer. They were previously allowed to use a written warning as "hazardous contact". You can see where that is pointing to, a citation.

Third they are evaluated on their performance. If they do not consistently meet their "hazardous contacts" they can be disciplined, fired, transferred, or not allowed their step raises.

Just be ready if you get stopped by a Trooper because your going to get a ticket, period."

    Just some food for thought!

Can we all just agree to ignore whatever comes after Blue Ray? I don't want to have to restart my collection ...... again.

I got a failure to yeild to an emergency vehicle ticket that I plan to fight. The guy was already back in his car when I went by and he almost ran my wife off the road to pull out and come after me. I have more than a clean record and the officer was just rediculous about the whole thing. Now I know why.

For anyone coming from Atlanta -- keep this in mind when you come to visit. I routinely see 5-6 state troopers sitting in speed traps along I-20.

Coming from Sean's house one night after practicing for the virtual 24hrs I got a ticket for doing 39 in 35. It was stupid.

FWIW the Hoover Suv's that set around Leeds and I459 don't shoot radar. They appear to be looking for drugs.

I've seen DOT inspector SUV's in that area, too, with people slamming on their brakes all around them.

Well this is good to know. Exactly where did they catch you, on that long hilly road coming from downtown Alabaster?

Yeah right after you come over the hill with the two stop lights right next to each other.
