  • Damaged MicroSD card

I drove the Indy Motor Speedway last wk and they provided GO PRO and I provided the SD card.
I'm hoping we have a video guru in the club to help recover my video as we ran it through the wash. A referral?
    Thanks,
    Gramps

I'm not a guru but if it's dried out real good you should be fine. I'm always washing my jump drive and it works fine. How close did you get the wall coming out of 4?:-)

Thanks John. I tried it in my camera and it said card full, then when I tried to run it, it said file empty. I'm beyond my level now.
As for Indy. The road course runs clockwise so turn 1 is before exit of turn 4 on the oval. They don't let you drive the oval but we rode along with an instructor and he stayed far away from the walls. We hit 130 down the long straights and the short shoots that look long on tv aren't at speed. God only knows what it must be like at 220mph....was fun.

I've never had this problem, so this is all untested theory, based on things I've read over the years. YMMV, etc. Whatever you do, don't format the card or try to add other files to it. This could overwrite what you want to preserve.

First, inspect the card. Sometimes the little contacts get bent and don't make contact. You may be able to straighten a bent contact to make things work. I suppose the contacts could be corroded, also, but that is less likely.

Check the website of the manufacturer of your particular SD card. They may have a free download of recovery software. If not, here's an article with some ideas - http://www.computerworld.com/article...-and-more.html

I think I'd try the first free one on that list if the card manufacturer doesn't have recovery software available.
