  • Ranger QuickJack lift

I'm posting here in the Off-Topic area, even though this is pretty On-Topic.

As many of you know I've done some competitive marketing reviews for Bendpak and they recently asked my to look at their new product the QuickJack. A few of the TT folks that were at the Daytona Chump race saw the system in use by my team.

This portable lift system is something that I think applies to Club racers, TT racers, LeChump, and maybe in some case the hardcore Solo racer. You can see all the details here on this thread.

This is a review and evaluation of the new portable lift product from Ranger the QuickJack. The product comes in two versions a 3500# model and a 5000# model. I’ll demonstrate both models here so folks can see the differences and see which will best apply to their use. First I’m reviewing...

And of course feel free to ask me any questions at an event, I might even have it with me and in use so you can see it live.

Pretty nifty little setup. How much lighter would my wallet be if I wanted one?

Because they heard I liked my name, so they put my name as my name so I could have my name in my name... all the time.

Looks around $1000 for the one that Mike is using in the pics.

Here is one of the lifts a lot of dirt late model guys use or the ones who wanna fork out the money. A little more $$ but all one piece aluminum. They are very nice to have.

Looks like the racecarlifts model blocks access under the middle of the car and doesn't lift as high as the quickjack. That 3000 lb rating may be a problem for most new-ish street cars.

I like the thought of what Mike posted and hope he brings it to Barber or TGPR. I keep thinking it is a bit fiddly and I could have the car on stands by the time I drag out the quickjack, get it setup under the car so it hits the jack points, and get the car in the air. That may not be the case once I see it in person though.

Is it pneumatic? If so, what line pressure is required?

The system is hydraulic just like a commercial 2 post of 4 post lift. The key is that there is either a 12v or 110v power unit for the hydraulic pump. The 12v is great, as you can see in the video, I attached the power unit to the batter of the M3 itself to run the power unit.

At Daytona we used a "jump box" to power the lift. The only thing needed with the 12v is a good gauge set of jumper cables, your not going to plug this into a cigarette lighter!

I'll be posting more information and videos to the garage forum thread in the next days.

Might have missed it but do they lock as it goes up like a 2 post car lift?

The locking is a manual step, there are two preset positions on is at the full lift height and the other is a bit over half way. You just swing a safety bar down on the side that locks the lift in position.

I updated the original thread with more pictures and a different car for more views. This shows the lift in the lower of the two positions for changing wheels
