  • RS3s in most popular sizes/galactic backorder

The hankook RS3 for the most part is on backorder till may!!! I did see though that a lot of the other sizes still in stock at tire rack are on serious closeout . You may wanna check it out . A coworker of mine needed some 19s for his G37 and the tire price regularly for his size in the RS3 was 325 bucks each. They are marked down to 150 bucks a tire on closeout. Tire rack tells me its because hankook is coming with a different compound for the RS3 .

In the meantime I had to settle for a different tire reluctantly but the guy at Tire Rack who is also a avid autoxr and track day guy recommended them so I bought em. Dunlop Dirrezza ZIIs. For a 255 40 17 they are 158 bucks my cost so if I don't like em they weren't really that high priced.

will do . I got em on the car and so far cant tell much. An extreme summer performance tire is of no use for grip below 50*F...I will probably get a grip on it tomorrow or the next day. I expect them to be close to the RS3 but I am not sure they will be as good but I was showing cords and waiting till May was not an option.

As far as autocross goes, this is a fantastic tire on asphalt or concrete as long as it is warmer than 60 degrees. Drive on them in 40 degree weather and you'll be frustrated to the point of tears. Also, if you go to a big event (Spring Nats or Nationals) and there is a lot of OPR, you will also be frustrated to the point of tears. They just don't do well on OPR as a surface. But I really love them otherwise. Can't comment on daily driving the RS-3s though because I've just autocrossed on them.

My experience with them is that they seem to be happy when they are cooler and do not seem to like heat. I kept mine watered down between runs. They also have less of a slip angle than the Rivals and require more precision but reward it. They will also have a quicker steering response than the Hankooks due to a stiffer sidewall. They also get better with less tread. A great tire!

          Other than that, no comment

I think they also come with a rebate now

been on the Dirrezza DII tires through pretty much a good range of conditions.

            Dry cold (under 50* ) good grip....certainly better than a new RS3
Cold and wet (under 50* and very wet) ....certainly better than a new RS3
Dry and warm (above 50*) about the same as a new RS3

Was able to do a 4000 RPM launch control clutch drop in 1st with only a short period of tire spin with a instant 360 LB/FT to the tires and do flat shifts all the way through 4th with only a slight bark from the tires on upshifts to 2nd and 3rd. Got on the brakes hard to get back into the "not going to jail" speed range.

First impressions is its a great street tire for a lightish high torque high HP car ...the biggest surprise was how good it was in the wet /cold. A poor SRT4 owner decided to ask for his share of 240LS last night and I think he was surprised when a fairly understated 240sx was able to totally dessimate him . I don't think he really knew what hit him He really was being insistant in his driving that he really wanted it ....and I usually dont entertain those types but this guy asked for it multiple times and finally I gave it to him.
