  • Mustang GURU's!!!!!!!

I have never owned a Mustang but have been riding shotgun at Barber and have been impressed
with them as of late. I was wondering if some of the more "in the know" Mustang guys could
chime in on a little schooling.
I have found a 06 Saleen with the second stage supercharger with very low miles I am considering getting for a dual purpose, car show/track day car. Not really worried about
practicallity just as a performance road race type car is it a good bang for the buck or does
it have issues that make it not?
It is an 06 Saleen 27k miles $23k.
    Any comments would be appreciated.

It's a Saleen so you're paying for a name. You could most likely buy a GT and spend the extra $$ upgrading yourself with better performance parts. I guess depending on what you're comparing it to, they are good cars.

Thanks for the comments, you know I was thinking the same thing once I found out that
insurance companies considered them GT's. Oh well I'll just move on.

      Thanks again,
      John

A little late, but just to affirm your decision: Those cars are surprisingly compliant and fun to drive on track but the superchargers make them extremely prone to heat-soak. As in, you typically only get 15 minutes of track time before a 2 hour cool down WITH a fan. A plain GT would be much better bang for the buck as a track toy.

It's all fun and games until someone loses an everything.
