Id love too. I can do alignment in the garage all day, but corner weighting is easier and more accurate with scales.

          Pfft. Use a tape measure.

For serial though, I know TopSpeed and Forged in Atlanta do it for like $100 to $150. I sadly don't know any local shops.

how do you use a tape measure for corner weights?

Buy 4 of the same tape measures, drive over them, see which ones get crushed the most, figure the heaviest corners, balance accordingly, repeat until all 4 tape measures get crushed equally under each tire.

Corner weighting is setting correct weight distribution between each corner of the vehicle. This is done by adjusting the height of the spring perch on a coilover.

Assuming that that springs are matched correctly, you can "rough in" your L/R balance by verifying the spring perch height against a fixed point on the suspension. That will get you 90% there without scales. It won't be perfect, but it will be close ... again assuming that the springs are matched.

F/R is a different story. If you are on a level surface you can measure from the ground to a fixed point on the suspension to match ride height. From there you can adjust rake if you want to change the distribution a little.

I guess it's more correctly "corner balancing" than "corner weighting" in this case, as weighting implies use of scales. This method is of course dependent on the quality of the measurements themselves. Not as good as scales, but you can get it close.

For the $100 or so it costs, it's simpler to go to a shop.

Matt, you just described setting frame height. You set your frame height based on aero and suspension travel requirements. From there you corner weight to set cg where you want it using scales.

Either way...Im getting the Evo corner weight this weekend. I " rough in" the height on all 4 corners with only 1mm tolerance between L/R. and set my alignments. now we shall see how good of a job I did and dial the car in!!. C

C, you'll want to do an alignment after being corner weighted as any adjustment they make will change your alignment.

In order you always set: frame height, corner balance, alignment.

So, if I described frame height, how do you corner balance? What do you adjust to balance the car?
