The advantage is being able to use toyota COPs on a miata without looking janky. Also eliminating spark plug wires (point of resistance)....Nice piece.

Chuck is still living in the 70s when cars had distributor, Miatas don't. And no, were not going to add a 100 pounds to it so the other cars can keep up.

I'd like to eventually run COPs on the Beetle, but the wasted spark upgrade will work for now. Still a huge upgrade over the distributor setup.

                  e. Any ignition system which utilizes the original distributor for
spark timing and distribution is permitted.
                  Internal distributor
components and distributor cap may be substituted. Crankfire
ignition systems are prohibited unless fitted as original equipment.
Any spark plugs and ignition wires may be used.

The Miata has a distributor-less ignition system. The Cam Angle Sensor sends the timing signal to the ECU telling the coils when to fire. So in this case the Cam angle sensor would be considered the distributor. The system remains a wasted spark setup, the CAS is still there and has not been replaced with a crank trigger.

A big thanks to Pop for taking my rough working template and making it into
                  a beautiful, WIZZER MOTORSPORTS piece.
