Hello everyone, Im John. I joined the forum a few months ago but got fairly busy so I never posted. I live in Gardendale and own a 2003 MSP(Mazdaspeed Protege) that the wife has been driving for about 5 years now. I am a big DSM guy, but before that I loved my nissan sentra se-r(1993). I am in the military and I am currently deployed right now in Afghanistan. Before I deployed I sold my 9th 1g awd talon in preparation for deployment. I am thinking that I will just keep my MSP, build another motor with the forged internals I just bought for it, and make a stronger DD/weekend warrior. MSP's are known for handling, but the motors are weak. I currently have 170,xxx on my stock MSP and it has been the most reliable vehicle that i have ever owned......and i have owned alot. I want to get back into SCCA solo II like I was with my b13, but that was 8 years ago and i have been out of the game for a while. I can't wait to get back home from deployment, partly because I have 2 little girls and my wife, and partly because I miss driving. My wife has always been supportive of my car habit and agrees that the MSP should stay because we both have an affinity for it. Ok, sorry for the long post, I will try to post a pic of my car, which needs new suspension, bushings, and more power.......but I simply love the car and really want to put some good suspension on it, make more that 200whp and carve some curves
The hood is popped in this picture......so its not quite as cool as it could be

SPEC Stage 2+ I put in when i rebuilt the tranny last year

Replaced 3-4 gear shift fork last year after it broke, but took that opportunity for strengthening the stock LSD and replacing my motor mounts with urethane and replacing my WGA with a new one from ATP.
