In need of metal fab help

I like it. The angle of mine is a little off, but it's still better than the position of the standard enclosure. If you are okay with the horizontal spacing you could just tip the base up a little to get a better position. I spaced them out and inverted them to make them match my car and it's a much more realistic feel, but there isn't much benefit beyond that. They still have a short throw and little feedback for modulation.

Yeah. I've grown quite accustomed to the standard way they're positioned. I had originally thought about just tipping the box upside down but then the resistance would have been backwards as the clutch would be too soft and the gas would be too stiff...it's something I'll probably debate on for too long and just never do as I'm okay with how it is now lol. Do you use anything besides GT5 with this setup? Any PC based sims?

I built it for PC sims but have just been playing GT5 recently. I have rFactor, Live for Speed, GTR2 and Race '07. I also play Shift, DiRT 2 and Hot Pursuit on PC.

So GT5 is good then eh?

I mainly play rFactor, and when I feel like practicing an autocross I'll play Live for Speed, but I feel like LFS's tire models are silly lol. Next time you feel like giving rFactor a go or something you should let me know and we'll goof around or something.

GT5 really is pretty good. It's good enough to be called a sim in my eyes and it just works, unlike rFactor where you have to go search for mods and tracks and never know how good the really are. Plus, you can race anything against anything without setting up special groups and mods and all players have all the cars available. It's nice to have things simple.

Yeah the disorganization of rFactor can be annoying at times...but it's still my favorite sim due to it's diversity.

I'd like to give GT5 a go, but there's no way it's worth me buying a new TV, a PS3, and the game and all just for it lol.
