  • my galactically stupid move of the year

    OK to preface .

I upgraded my brakes on my 240 a couple years back to Infinity J30 calipers and rotors .This meant that the parking brake totally changed from being applied through the caliper to the inside of the rotor hat with a drum type brake. I didnt rig the park brake at the time due to not having all of the stuff nor the time to mess with it . In other words it wasnt a priority to have the park brake .

Recently I found myself with time and parts and motivation so I proceeded to finish the park brake. Due to the fact that the park brake cable housings mounted further back in the car than the stock cables ...this meant I would need to anchor them anew..

This is where it gets funny. The S14 chassis uses a saddle gas tank that is totally covered by a sheet metal shroud that appears a lot like a floorpan. Guess where the first hole I drilled went .

Moral of the story is ...well I think you get it .

NO WAY!... drain it, fill it with soapy water, drain it, and get someone to weld it...

    That's hilarious and sucky.

Where's the fun in that?!? Fill it slap full and park it in a 10x10 shed with no ventilation and THEN weld it.

MILK! Milk is the answer. Just do like the big tankers do you see running up and down the highway. They can't afford to run down the road empty, so they haul gasoline to the outlying towns, then haul milk back on the flip-flop! "MILK- good for what ails you!"

Z tank is made of Plastiik...DOHHHHHHH!!! I stucka kelly plug in it . I think its all good but I havent had the guts to fill it back up yet to test the fix..

You have to remove the entire rear subframe to get the tank out . Its a real project. Enjoy this very funny commercial .
