I think the 4AGE out of the MR2 might swap in, and they aren't very expensive.

It'll swap but you need an adapter plate for the trans from what I understand. It has to be an early MR2 also, 90,91...something like that. I've only sorta researched this since I haven't gotten that far down the list of 'To Dos' yet, and an engine swap is at the bottom!

i was talking about the 4age '85-89, the drifter motor, it won't swap unless you plan on converting the car to RHD, because the header will be on the left side of the motor when you mount it horizontally.

The 5SFE may work, I haven't a clue, I don't deal with those motors, just 4age and 3sgte/ge

I went to pullapart this morning. There is an 87 MR2 there with the engine still there. It looked to be hanging by a mount and a few wires and cables. The rest of the car is canabalized to death. The tranny was the only thing we went in hopes of getting but its gone which makes the engine a snap to get .Looked fairly complete but I didnt poke around it to see if there were indications of a failure .

We also went in hopes of getting 240 parts too but the 97 s14 was a mere shell of itself quite literally.NUTTIN left 'cept an open diff and an automatic trans . Go figure ..they got there middle of last month.
