  • New DSM Guy Looking to get into Rally X

Hello My Name Is Robert. Most of my Friends Call me Tank however.

I am new to SCCA and Looking to get into some fun with my Cars. I've been working on cars for about 6 years now. Currently I have a 96 Eclipse GST that I want to get prepared for SCCA Solo Stock and a 91 Eagle Talon TSi AWD that I am hoping I will have ready for next year's RallyX Season. The talon needs a lot of work but I got it as a steal. 150$ for the AWD Talon, 6 Bolt 4g63T and It included a Shepracing Stage 4 Rebuilt Tranny and Shepracing Rebuilt T-Case. The only downside is that the rear diff is busted and the Hatch/Windshield Glass is busted.

Well DirtyDSM..We do both around here...We have SOLO & RALLYCROSS programs. We have a Solo event this Sat March 27th & a Rallycross event this Sunday March 28th. Come out and meet some folks & see some of the action. Solo is @ Birmingham Race Course & RX is @ Shag Bark Rally park in Harpersville. Both addresses & maps should be on the programs forum...Hope to see you out....

A 3 hour drive is pretty long I agree BUT,you come out 1 time and you will be working on the Talon that night after you get home from spending all day watching dirt fly and even after the 6 hours of driving. You will be hooked.
All of us Honda guys have to work Saturday night before the event and do not get off until 1:30am or so,but we will still be there on 2-3 hours of sleep.

            Sunday we RALLYCROSS!!!!!!

I would be working on the talon now if I had the cash. Broke as joke and all my money is in the 6 Bolt Rebuild at the moment. Talon needs several things and likly wont be ready until next unfortunatly I am in college and spend about all of my free time working on the 2 DSMs. I hope to have the 6 bolt swap done in another month or so. Then the talon will be getting put back together.

I love my talon... Or did until it decided to drop a fuel tank I broke down and went and got myself an RX-8 for a DD and autoX events. Not sure what the plans for the talon are yet, other than get the tank welded back on, and go from there.

                        Yes mama.

We put a complete new suspension under the Pilot the night before last. Last night we did an alignment. After the alignment at 2:30am we went to our fields to test it out. MUCH better. We even tried running with the VSA on and the car was still pretty quick. Just drive from cone to cone and let the computer do the work. Not as fun but close to as quick.

Also after last night ,,,,,,,,we need to do a night rallycross, we really do.

Yeah. Couldn't resist the AWD goodness any longer. I miss my Lazer R/T AWD I got it for like 400$ and drove it until the wheels fell off (actually blew out the rearend off roading, and then blew the head gasket driving it with a bad rear end).
